BIG FAMILY! At least we thought that was a possibility for us when we were married in 2003. Jim is the 7th of 11 siblings and Monica is the oldest of 3 with strong extended family ties. We’ve kept a household of dogs (up to 4) and a cat and brought 35 puppies into the world. But after a few years of trying to have a baby on our own and a few years of alternative and medical help, we realized our family would only grow by adoption. To us this is a natural choice as Jim’s mom was adopted soon after birth and we have friends and co-workers who have wonderful children by adoption. We sometimes ask ourselves what took us so long.
Family and Faith:
We believe family creates the foundation of a lifetime. A nurturing, active, supportive and encouragement-filled childhood has helped both of us to be confident, caring, happy and prosperous as adults. When a baby comes to our life Monica will switch from a full-time Chemist to a full-time Mom. Jim’s career as an Engineer provides the income and flexibility to enjoy activities and make family a priority.
We also believe God calls us to more than the activities and relationships around us. God calls us to be at Peace with what happens in the world, to enjoy the Blessings we have received and to aspire to Love unconditionally and abundantly. We are active in our Christian church, our local community and our neighborhood.
Location and Activities:
We live in northwest Loveland Colorado, close to many of our passions, and close to the new friends we’ve met since moving here in 2004. Most of our friends have dogs and have helped us with our litters of puppies. Our home is nicely located a ½ mile from an elementary school, and less than 2 miles from a middle school, a high school and our church. There is a community pool across from the elementary school. Quaint downtown Loveland is a short 4 mile bike ride. We live about 1 hour drive from Estes Park and the Rocky Mountains where we enjoy our hikes and camping.
Together we enjoy skiing, hiking, camping, and biking. We enjoy the mountains, the beach and scuba diving in warm water. Around the house we enjoy gardening our vegetables, flowers and fruit trees. When it is cold and damp outside we enjoy catching up on the movies we missed when it was nice out. Monica also enjoys volunteering to cure injured eagles, owls and hawks, talking with friends, decorating the house and trying new recipes. Jim enjoys hunting with the dogs, fly fishing, fixing cars, singing and building projects with wood.
Our Goals:
-Grow in Faith and Love
-Transform those around us through our relationship and our family
-Experience the beauty and challenges of this world
